Ok, I know it’s been forever. I have the bestest excuses tho’:
EXCUSE ONE: I was out of town!
I went back to SF for a week - more CARRIER shooting, sister visiting, stuff moving. Man, that was a crazy stressful week. Getting models to all show up in the same place at the same time is DECIDEDLY like herding cats. Cats in fancy costumes. Natasha was awesome, and let me crash in her photo studio, as well as shooting there. Plus? Her houseslave brought me coffee! Bonus!
EXCUSE TWO: I moved! For reals!
All my stuff has left Cali. Anything left is no longer mine. Baby monster got quite the windfall - the big Ikea bookcase she has been eying for years, my TV, other stuff. Mia and Natasha made out as well, plus some random Craigslist peeps. The upshot is, all moved out. Movers came and got my stuff - big Russian guys. Also, this little dude hitchhiked along:

The mover came upstairs and said “I beleef zis belonks to you”, and there was Skinky, coming out of one of my boxes. He lived on my porch for awhile, but has since moved on, I hope to a sunnier corner of the building.
(Yes, I named him Skinky. Also, Skinkerton Jones. Fraction called him Sir Skinksalot, and said I should knit him a tiny sweater.)
The move was pretty non-traumatic - a lamp that I loved got broken (boo!) and I seem to have lost a box with my vintage dresses in it (booooooo!!!) and my red curtains (BOOOOOO!!!) and my printer finally gave up the ghost (OH MY GOD BOOO!!!) but for the most part, not horrible. At least it’s over.
EXCUSE THREE: Lauren Martin-Roy!
Miss Super Princess Awesome came to visit for a week, and OH! I wish she’d stay forever. And ever and ever. (Even tho I wish this fervently, I swear Tood, I am not the one who stole her ID! Promise! I am not trying to steal yer wife!)
Lolo cleaned my house from top to bottom - even the windows! And then, she helped me paint - pics of the paint job forthcoming - and hung all my curtains. It’s like I imported my very own Marfa Stewart.
Having her here was lovely - it gave me an excuse for me to go out and be social, eat VERY BAD (yet very good) food, and indulge my vices - like stalking. (Hellllllllllllloooo, Restaurant Crush!)
EXCUSE FOUR: I have a DOG!
Ladies and Gentlemens - Miss Lady Bunny:

Bunny is a…well, part pit bull, part ….Basenji? part …Terrier? and ALL AWESOME. The first time I met her, she wiggled into my lap and rolled over for belly rubs. I just melted.
I get her for official forever on June 1, but till then, we just hang out and get used to each other. Yesterday I took her for a walk over to the DeFractions, where she met her new boyfriends. They all got along swimmingly. Bunny is MAD chill - she likes other dogs just fine, but is more interested in people. She does not chase cats (which bodes well for future housemates), and really would like to do nothing more than lick me onna face. Today, Bunny will come over and hang out while I work. We’ll see how it goes. There will prolly be a park jaunt in there as well. And some bone chewing. And face licking.
In other news - I signed some Massively Important Contracts, which anyone who has talked to me lately knows what they are for… but there was a piece of paper in there that I signed saying that I can’t say anything about it yet, so… yeah. BUT IF YOU KNOW, YOU KNOW. Woo!
Also in other news? I have cockroaches, bleah. Any hints on the killing?
Oh! Also! Anyone who lives near an Ikea, who wants to do me a favor? Please email me! PLEASE!
Ok, back to drawing. Carrier chugs along s l o w l y, plus I promised a script to McKitten by June 1st, and I have freelance piling up… it never ends. Thank god.
Today? I totally love my life.

Congrats on the move, L. Miss Bunny is adorable. Major jealous of your baby.
For what it is worth, we live between/near THREE big IKEA stores. Channels to assist are open.
Best wishes on the move and all the good things happening in yur life. Tis a good thing.

I thought they said Miss Bunny was part corgi/part pitt…?

Is Carrier the pigeon story? I was wondering if that was still happening.
Re: Roaches.
I’ve gotten good results by blocking all the drains, sinks and tub, since that’s typically how they get access from other people’s places.

A little dish of borax somewhere out where they travel should work. Takes a few days to a week. It got rid of my ant problem too.

LM-
Another roach killing method we use out here in the desert is to pour a little bleach down the drains. They drink the water and it poisons them quite nicely.

Excellence all around
As for what else Miss Bunny might be, I never rule out dingo, just on principle.

These roach killing solutions are intense! Myself, I recommend cats. We have a roof that leaks when there’s heavy rain. Apparently, one of our cats drowned a cockroach in the bucket that catches the water. We can’t figure out how else a cockroach would drown in a bucket. Cats will do your bidding!!!!!

She’s part corgi. Says so right on the webpage.
How’s restaurant boy doing? I swear when I’m there next I’m playing Chuck Woolery for you two. He’s interested, I tell you, eeeeenterested.

I second the feline solution. Ruthless, systematic, cuddly.

Great job taking those pics. Very professional-like. I see the camera loves her too.
Also, Lauren Martin-Roy is one of the best in the biz.

Bengal Roach Spray is absolutely the best.
