I’m happy for you. I’m happy for me too.

SOOOOOOOOOO much stuff piling up, what’s a girl to do?!

I have begun collecting things people have yelled at me from cars, since I have moved to KCMO. Recent entrants:

(referring to my star tattoos) “Why you give yourself only three stars, girl? I’d give you at least five!”

(On noticing my California license plates, pulling up next to me, scary stereotypical white trash lady - stringy blonde hair, missing tooth (!), beat up junker of a car) “Hey there! You bring any of that good California weed with you?!”
(After I pull away, she races to catch up) “Can ah BUY any from yoooooo?”

The Harveyville Prom was featured on NPR (you can hear Dawn and Steven at the very beginning, and Rachel complimenting me on my dress near the middle), and got Metafiltered as well. What a bunch of negative types popped up on Metafilter - automatically assuming that Nikol and Ron were asshole gentrifying artists. Bah, sometimes I hate you, internets.

Bunny update: Lady Miss Bunny Rabbit has destroyed a shoe (my beloved red Adidas!), various pieces of wood that I have been making shelves out of, a shoetree, a bra, a red rubber Kong toy, two Nylabones, and the wall next to her bed in my room. THE. WALL. HAS. TEETH MARKS. Rabbit has a chewing issue. I still adore her, however.
Bunny and Half Pipe
Can you blame me?

Devil Etta 4

Just did a shoot for the upcoming Naughty Needles Burlesque Show (July 13th in Lawrence, KS! Mark your calendars! I will be dressed as a bunny! Observe:

Come see me do the very angry Bunny Hop!)

The shoot was pretty awesome - it was me and 4 other photographers, all with our own little agendas. Got some excellent shots, and some stuff I’m going to use for reference for a new poster. Yay, nekkid ladies!

Upcoming for me are a bunch of visitors - Jeff Johnson (former Kitchen Sink editor), Rocco (Michelle’s boyfriend, touring the country with his new album under the name Katastrophe), Ali Liebegott, and hopefully, a visit from the AWESOME KIERON GILLEN, OMG, OMG!!!111!!!
Dude, I totally live here. And have people coming to visit. Dude!

Also upcoming? I am starting a KCMO chapter of Dr. Sketchy’s Anti-Art School! Our first session will be June 24th - details forthcoming when I get them ironed out.

Mmmm… ok, that’s enough updating. I will have more. I ALWAYS have more.

I’d be really interested in hearing more about the Dr Sketchy’s chapter. I really dig what I’ve seen of the NY stuff.

  2. Jill Says:

    so awesome you!!

  3. Dawn Says:

I am inspired by Dr. Sketchy.

“Why you give yourself only three stars, girl? I’d give you at least five!”– THAT’S totally sweet.

  4. Brian Spence Says:

That would make 2 bunnies with teeth in the same house.

Also, that pic of you sideways freaked me out for a sec. It’s kind of an optical illusion, because the other chic looks like she’s sitting, and you’re FLOATING IN MID-AIR!
